Give the start, the end and the break of each day, and this adds up the week: in hours and minutes, and in decimal hours for a timesheet or an invoice. Add a day for each one you worked.

How it works

Each day is its end minus its start, less the break. A day that ends earlier on the clock than it started is a night shift that ran past midnight, and is counted to the next morning.

Decimal hours are the total minutes divided by sixty, so 45 minutes is 0.75 of an hour, not 0.45: 7 h 45 is 7.75 hours. That is the figure a timesheet, a payslip or an invoice multiplies by a rate.

Give the hours of your normal week and the time above it is shown as extra; give an hourly rate and the hours are priced. The pay is hours times the rate, before anything is deducted, and no overtime premium is assumed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn hours and minutes into decimal hours?

Divide the minutes by sixty and add them to the hours: 15 minutes is 0.25, 30 is 0.5, 45 is 0.75. So 7 h 45 is 7.75 hours, and a rate of 20 an hour makes it 155, not 149.

What about a shift that goes past midnight?

Enter it as it is — 22:00 to 06:00 — and it is counted as eight hours ending the next morning, less the break.

Does it work out overtime pay?

It shows the hours above the normal week you give, but it does not price them: the premium and when it applies depend on the country, the contract and the sector. The pay shown is all hours at your rate, before deductions.
